Komen South Carolina funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening, diagnostic, and treatment support projects for the medically underserved in 45 SC counties. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) non-profits or state or federal agencies assisting with reducing the barriers to care in our most vulnerable populations as identified in the 2015 Community Profile.  Applicants requesting funding to serve York County should contact Komen’s Charlotte affiliate.

Our Community Grants are selected through a highly competitive, peer-reviewed process. Grant training workshops are held in the fall for all prospective applicants.  Registration is required and will be available online when the training sessions are confirmed. Attending the workshop is a requirement of the application process.

The grant application process is competitive. Whether or not an organization has received a grant in the past, funding in subsequent years is never guaranteed.  Funding depends upon the quality of the current application, the quality of the applicant pool, the populations served, and the funds available for distribution.
